empowering the next generation of young women to reach for the stars !

The ISA is proud to partner with the ShakthiSAT program to bring this incredible opportunity to aspiring young woman in Iceland who are interested in Space science, astronautical engineering, and future Astronauts. ShakthiSat is a STEM program started in India by Dr Srimathy Kesan who was driven by the vision of empowering young girls across the globe through the awe-inspiring world of space exploration. The mission aims to involve 12,000 girls from 108 nations, giving 108 talented students in each country a life-changing opportunity to discover their passion.

Dr. Sandra Mjöll Jónsdóttir-Buch is Iceland’s Ambassador for the ShakthiSat Mission and is in charge of STEM outreach and engagement for the ISA.

We will be selecting a group of young ladies ages 15-18 to participate in Shakthisat this spring / summer. Of this group one exceptional lady will be selected to travel to India in late August to work with woman from across the globe to prepare a satellite and it’s payloads prior to launching into Low Earth Orbit and to the Moon.

If you know a young lady who is passionate about space science, engineering , and space exploration , please have her fill in her information below with a short message on why this project is perfect for her and why she is best suited to represent Iceland.
